Let You
Down

The summer the windows stayed down

Let You Down was tracked live to tape in a Joshua Tree ranch house with the doors open and the desert doing backing vocals. Ellis's twelve-string riff leads, the whole band shouts the title back at Maya, and the fade-out is just the wind and a laughing engineer.

It soundtracked a thousand road trips that summer and still opens the festival set — the cue for the confetti, such as it is.
